Holidays and Family
This is the time of year when many of us are around family (some for the first time all year) and for many of us, we are not use to being around these people who bring up all sorts of feelings in us. Some of us revert to children. Some revert to care giving or mediation roles. Others feel anger and feelings of neglect or abandonment. Yet, there are those among us who thrive in the love of family.
Here is the deal. What I've learned over the years is that how we feel really is a choice. Do you allow actions or words of others to trigger unhappy or confusing childhood memories? Or do you choose to ACCEPT them where they are and remain on an even keel during the visit? It's truly up to you.
You may be saying, "yeah, well, but..." And of course we all have those... "but if you only knew my..." fill in the blank.
I wish for all of you a healthy, loving, fun holiday season and look forward to a great new year!

Personal Travel Note:
I am leaving the country for 3 months beginning December 18th. I will be in Costa Rica in the Montezuma area, on the western coast on the Nicoya Peninsula, a hippie, bohemian town on the water. We'll be staying about one kilometer from the town, up in the jungle, in a beautiful little house. Waterfalls and monkeys and beautiful butterflies abound! I will be working on my new book, Freedom from Abuse, and will still be taking mediation and coaching calls!
